Charles M. Schulz was influenced by Percy Crosby and I am influenced by Charles M. Schulz (and Walt Kelly.) It’s an indirect descent. I love Crosby’s line and use of color. I have many magazines with his color illustrations and never saw his comic strip until I joine GoComics. I’m willing to bet that Schulz used the same pen nibs as Crosby—that line comes from the finest ink nib ever made, one that allows thick and thin lines but never blots.

I have heard of students who failed pop quizzes when they were allowed to use their textbooks. They didn’t bring the textbooks to class.

My sister’s family had to go to the storm cellar during the tornadoes last week. They go when the sirens sound. Fortunately they were not affected.

Yellow rain slickers are available at stores that sell clothes to working people (in Canada it’s called Michael’s.)

My cat has turned into a grumpy old man. At least he is fun to pet.

I have always been terrified of fire. I was in two bad electrical fires and acted more bravely than I give myself credit for…I ran into the first one to bang on doors to get other students out of a dorm. The second one was in the same dorm, caused by a short circuit in a small wired clock that a student put a heavy suitcase on. This is why I have wind up clocks.

Thank you! I was feeling a bit Art Deco that day.
