   Yes I’m a country boy too. Lived in Springfield, MO a year in the late 80’s & from Summer 99 till I escaped late Fall 2001.

   Had to live 15-20 minutes from the hospital after I came down with MS in 2000, so I had to serve an extra year there.

   Hated each & every second at the last place cause of the Hood Rats. But word got around. Don’t mess with dat crazy white boy after I knocked the teeth out of a well-known thief with my Sassafras cane. I’d told him several times don’t come around here no more after Miss Kitty let me know he was in my back yard.

   My truck was at the shop so I guess he thought I wasn’t home. I’d just got out of the shower when I heard Miss Kitty growl the BAD growl. I peeked out the front door window that faced West. Here came came Mr. Slow Learner Thief coming up my driveway! I quietly unlocked the deadbolt.

   I was fresh out of the shower, Nekkid as a plucked chicken & just leaned in the corner on my cane.

   I thought if I go out the front door nekkid to run him off AGAIN, the old lady next door will freak out AGAIN, what am I gonna do?

   I saw a shadow on the wall which meant he was on the front porch. I thought to myself is he stupid enough to come in the house? The screen door opened, he turned the door handle & WALKED IN!

   He’s 3 steps in, looking at Miss Kitty because she was growling LOUD when I stepped out from behind the door.

   The look on his face when he realized forget the cat, the big hairy NEKKID hippy looks mad was PRICELESS! Didn’t last long because I swung that cane into his teeth HARD!

   He was OUT COLD as he bounced off the door frame & became one with the carpet.

   I knew a city cop that gave me his card & said call HQ to request him if I ever had trouble. So I did.

   In 5-6 minutes he’s there. 3 minutes later he’s laughing SO HARD as I told him the details. Cuffs for MR. Toothless! Never saw him again.

   Word got around!

   Pretty wild how just ONE decision can affect the rest of your life.

   Or END it. Like you, I believe the Lord directed your path that day!

   Got me good with the flooded pens, but the ducks don’t mind

   We had a BIG 3 day rain several years back. The farmer I worked for on and off from the day I got my first car in 76 till MS knocked me down in 2000 had rented his sis-in-laws old farm. We’d repaired and patched fence all over EXCEPT the North side.

   We went down right after the rains were over to count the cattle and fix the water gaps in the fence.

   The last thing we did was go check the NEW fence on the North (uphill) side. After all, it was new and there was only a little dip from the flat field on the other side, so it’d be fine with just a little grass on the bottom wire, right?

   WRONG! City boy had bought the farm to the north AND PUT 35 BIG ROUND BALES RIGHT IN THE DIP! Needless to say ALL the bales went through the NEW fence pulling down over a 100 yards of new barbed wire and steel T posts on each side.

   THEN when we got there, city boy didn’t want to help fix the fence AND he was going to get his hay bales on Phil’s side dragging wire and posts with his tractor!

   Moral of the story, a Deputy hauled him away for trespassing with his tractor AND hay bales on Phil’s side! He finally did get his tractor back after the court case. The hay must’ve ALL washed away…

   In the early 80’s my best friend had 100 beer can cozys made with that printed on them. The place that made them for him only charged him $40 more to make a 100 of them that they wanted to make 25. Said the cost was in getting it set up to put that on the cozys. After all, the cozys were just made with pipe insulation with a piece of flat foam glued in the bottom. I still had one in the early 2000’s but it was starting to crack and split pretty bad.

   Hello Magic, howzit goin?

   I been wondering about you. But then again, I’ve wondered about you since I started reading your comments & replies. Oh come on! Did you really expect me to pass up that chance to needle just a little? As my Grandpa said, if I didn’t like you I wouldn’t pick on you!

   Goes to show I’m feeling better!

   Was watching the news for a minute a couple days ago & heard West Louisiana-East Texas getting way too much rain at once. Are you in that mess?

   I’m slowly catching up on rest, that & the Testosterone levels coming up have got me felling less like a lump. If I lay on the couch to put my feet up awhile I go OUT till the bladder says WAKE UP OLD MAN!

   Keeping my legs up while I sleep & nap is helping them get smaller. They still sink in deep if something presses on them very long. I’ve lost a LOT of what little muscle mass I had 6 months ago. Should have my compression socks, feet & leg velcro wraps in a week or so to squeeze more fluid out.

   The arm hole is maybe long as a Dime, 1/4 inch between the edges of skin, almost filled in level & looking good. The scar tissue is hard, about 2/3 as big an area as the hole was at first. They say it’ll take a few months to feel normal.

   The kicker is this. That little healing area & the hard scar tissue is more painful to touch than the big hole was by far! Go figure, huh?

   My back & both shoulders are painful, probably always will be. It can go from pretty sore to eye-watering searing pain that lasts for hours or days with little reason besides weather changes, moving the wrong way too much or reaching only that extra inch or two. Sure makes me appreciate the times of less pain!

   Oh well, at least I’m still young & pretty. PRETTY DELUSIONAL that is! But that’s just the Doc’s opinion.

   The baby is a month old now, awake more & looking even cuter! Her namesake, my brother Jamie would’ve been 71 the 16th. Rough day this year.

   These days you wouldn’t be allowed to teach history as it actually happened. It would offend so many if the TRUTH of things were told!

   So many peoples response would be “Oh we did it for their own good” to justify the atrocities of genocide, the destruction of OTHER cultures, the exploitation of OTHER races and the outright theft of OTHER peoples lands.

   Want to bet I get some truly ignorant, racist replies to this? Even though we are ALL one race, HUMAN.

    Why does he wear the spotted side out? Seems to me like the soft belly fur would be comfortable against the uh… skin. Then again, it might get a little itchy in the hot steamy jungle.

    Guess I’ll never know since I’m not going to Africa to fight, kill, skin, tan and make Panther-Fur underwear. Too much hassle when WalMart sells cloth underwear in a package of six!
