People like to criticize football/soccer players who play up their injuries, but I’ve read that they frequently have good reason to do so. Top players are often targeted by opposing players who deliberately try to injure them when the referees aren’t watching and put them out of the game. Their only defense against that is to draw attention to themselves whenever someone does it, even if it means a bit of overacting.

Unlike some, I am enjoying this storyline, which I don’t remember ever seeing before. A character doesn’t have to be likeable to be entertaining to read about.

Eh, not in my opinion, unless you’re using a really broad definition of “country”. There are a lot of great songs that have some elements of country in them, but I mostly dislike the stereotypical, twangy stuff most people think of when they think of country music. But as someone else said, different strokes for different folks.

There’s nothing wrong with using “which” for a restrictive clause. The idea that “which” can only be used for non-restrictive clauses is a myth, like the idea that you can’t end a sentence with a preposition (nothing wrong with that, either). In this case, “which” is a better choice than “that”, because there’s another “that” almost immediately afterwards.

But I suppose Peter’s physics class isn’t quite at that level yet.

Queen had an actual astrophysicist in their band. Not Freddie Mercury (who wrote “Don’t Stop Me Now”), but guitarist Brian May. His song “’39” is probably the only well-known rock song to incorporate Einstein’s Theory of Relativity.

While I generally prefer classic rock, there were also some very good disco tunes. Good music is good music, regardless of genre.

While I lean more towards rock, I have to say that there were a lot of great disco songs. Every genre of music has its good tunes (even country).

Yeah, their philosophy is basically government of the privileged, by the privileged and for the privileged.

The presidential salary was chickenfeed compared to the millions Donnie made from his various grifts, such as foreign dignitaries using his hotels to curry favor with him and having the Secret Service rent rooms at his properties at premium prices. And a lot of right-wingers complain about spending money to help Ukraine defend itself from Russia, but the amounts that the US has spent to help Ukraine are a small fraction of the overall military budget, and most of them don’t talk about cutting that. What’s more, most of them have supported spending billions on aid to Israel, even though Israel, unlike Ukraine, is much stronger militarily than those they are fighting (and then of course there’s the little matter of all those indiscriminate strikes against civilians). But then consistency and logic are not MAGA strong points.
