Per Wikipedia: "Douglas Corrigan (born Clyde Groce Corrigan; January 22, 1907 – December 9, 1995) was an American aviator, nicknamed “Wrong Way” in 1938. After a transcontinental flight in July from Long Beach, California, to New York City, he then flew from Floyd Bennett Field in Brooklyn to Ireland, although his flight plan was filed to return to Long Beach.Corrigan claimed his unauthorized transatlantic flight was due to a navigational error, caused by heavy cloud cover that obscured landmarks and low-light conditions, causing him to misread his compass. However, he was a skilled aircraft mechanic (he helped construct Charles Lindbergh’s Spirit of St. Louis) and had made several modifications to his own plane, preparing it for his transatlantic flight. He had been denied permission to make a nonstop flight from New York to Ireland, and his “navigational error” was seen as deliberate. Nevertheless, he never publicly admitted to having flown to Ireland intentionally."

Not having access to an adorable Kenny, I get my puppy (and kitten) fix by watching “Too Cute” (Discovery Family, daily @ 1PM). It follows 3 litters of puppies (or kittens) from birth to adoption. I get so calm and relaxed while watching that I often fall asleep in my TV chair, even though I don’t want to miss a moment of that soothing cuteness.

Every living thing on Earth is the genetic cousin of every other living thing. So be at ease little researcher kitty, and embrace the big, big family you are part of.

… or you made a mistake in your sequencing! Which is likely, since the DNA sequencing letters are A, T, C, and G, and there are thousands of them for each organism, not just 3.

She’s looking in the wrong places! I have a house full of antiques—solid wood, beautiful craftsmanship, most costing less than $200. My oldest piece is from the mid 19th century—a rather beat-up traveling desk that I use as “mail central”. Most expensive are an Art Deco (I love Arts and Crafts and Art Deco) armoire ($500) that I use as a TV holder and a quarter-sawn oak filing cabinet that I use as … a filing cabinet. I have chairs, tables, dressers, and lots of miscellaneous tchotchkes, all for $200 or less each, all of them at least 80 years old.

Back in the day (1950s when I was a tween) if I wanted a kiddy pool or an air mattress blown up, I had to do it myself on lung power alone! It always took forever! (gasp, pant)

Hares do go a little crazy in spring (i.e. mating season), hence the term “mad as a March hare”. I once saw evidence of this on a trail ride at a dude ranch in Arizona (in February—spring comes early in the desert). A group of about a dozen jack rabbits (which are hares) were leaping and bouncing all over a hillside mere yards from our horses, which they totally ignored in their frenzy, unlike their usual panicked mad dash away from us.

At least he didn’t put glitter all over it … like my niece did on a card for me!
