to my mind, a wise choice. Nothing like have tangible back up or proof when questions arise.

So which meaning for ‘bomb’ in this case? Ace it and make the mistake of proving he could do the work so he can’t stall off again? Or actually blowing the test and losing his standing as ‘smart guy?’

And, as for Mrs. Olsen, she acts as if she has never learned not to ask that question at any point in a class. I think she does it, knowing very well after all this time, that Caulfield will not miss a chance to stir things up.

It’s good for the other students, too, as his questions present a different aspect of a subject that many probably had never considered. Sort of a sideways Socratic application.

I kinda remember reading a pop mech mag which included an article that said cars arrive at the dealership already with an undercoat. Whether is it good enough by itself or it if needs additional layers, I don’t know, but it makes sense that mfgs would do that before shipping.

Buttercup’s trail is littered with paper evidence. His own writings, notes of aides and sycophants, top secret documents, and files from all the lawyers he bamboozled with promises of payments never made. He just couldn’t flush fast enough. Would take a really big plumber’s helper to get him out of that bottleneck.

It was once thought that increased use of computers would lead to a more nearly paperless world. Hasn’t happened. But tracking correspondence and illegal input is much easier, because most entries remain in a file somewhere forever. With the advent of AI nothing will be hidden.
