   We would like to cut down the tree in front of the house – but illegal to do so. We just keep waiting for it to fall on our van and our house.

   I took ballet when I was in first or second grade – what a disappointment. I was a “chubby” little thing and not at all good at it. I was going with the girl who lived next door to us. For the performance piece we played the 2 sides of the entry “gate” – meaning we stood in a post the entire time.

   When I was in fifth grade I took ballroom dancing. I know all the steps, but still too much of a klutz and tone deaf for that to matter. On the other hand husband learned none of this but if I show the step he is a very good dancer.

   Still has not received it – tomorrow will be 2 weeks since it was mailed. But to be fair – she had Covid and was in a different room so I did not put the room number on the envelope as we did not know where she would be when it arrived.

   (I am NOT happy with this nursing home. She was in an assisted living before this from the same group which was beyond EXCELLENT. My sister is her primary care giver, so it is not my decision to make.)

   None of our neighbors do – and if they did, other than either side of our house, we don’t know them.

   We are apparently not in an area common for them – what he read after the fact was not the same as what he read before the fact.

   In the movie “Who was that lady” – Dean Martin and Tony Curtis – one is trying to convince the other (forget which one) that he is a spy. He has 3 dots on his ankle (drawn on with eye brow pencil) to prove it. He says (this is the 1960s) that “J. Edgar Hoover has 4 dots”. That related to any part of this?

   In this house it is instead – “happy husband, happy life” and he is rarely same these years. Most things don’t matter as much to me as they do to him.

   He was the one who insisted on a wedding instead of just a ceremony with immediate family at town hall. He likes to eat out (not due to my cooking – he just grew up doing so & expects to do so) and I hate doing so – so we eat out. Despite an agreement when he quit his job (at my suggestion due to burnout) that we would not eat lunch out daily – we were doing so before Covid and are back to 3 or 4 days a week lunch out. Dinner out or take in 3 days a week.

    Yes it is tomato sauce – to you and me – but to his family and many if not most Italians is it is “tomato gravy” or “the gravy”.

    Beef gravy is beef gravy (and I found out on my own that what is called “brown” gravy and is sold commercially is horrible as it NOT beef gravy). There is also turkey gravy (sort of yellow beige) and white gravy. All of these gravies are fine to buy jarred or canned – it is just tomato gravy which is not.
