When a friend who suffers from OCD described her own severe behavior to an expert in the field, the expert called her a “liar”. When I testified that I had seen her behave in exactly that way, the expert called me a “liar”.
And that was an “expert” on the staff of a major university.
“I can attest to the fact that there always is an alpha dog when I had more than one dog.”
However, I have known exceptions… both in groups of dogs and in groups of dogs with other animals. I’ve seen dogs exhibit behavior which I would characterize as “mutual friendship” rather than “dominance”. Oh, I’ve also seen a lot of dominance, too, but the exceptions definitely do exist.
Since I see a similar division with humans, I wonder how much of it might have to do with the environment in which they grow up.
Nope. There are 54 outs in 9 innings… 27 for each team. With only 3 outs before changing which team is at bat. And normally only 1 out before a change of batter, but with only one player per team, they can let that slide an allow Jason 3 outs (= 9 strikes) before he has to stop and let Peter take a turn at bat.
This cartoon is all too real.
