We spent decades fighting hard to get people to stop smoking cigarettes, got pretty darned successful too. Then we just replaced it with marijuana and vaping which are at least equivalent to the lung damage caused by a cigarette.
The conspiracy theorist in me thinks the government realized the lost revenue from tobacco and just found different “revenue streams” to replace it.
Nodding Head: Which changes nothing. The costs of doing so have increased. So the question ought to really be is are people spending more when adjusted for inflation? The dollar amount doesn’t matter.
braindead: Putting our nation first should be the entire purpose of a President, regardless of their political party. Any treaty, agreement, or negotiation, or action must be in the best interest of THIS nation first.
It’s astonishing how the modern leftists think differently, and think that having this nation put before anyone else is a bad thing. Just as Israel should act in its interest first. Or the UK. Or Finland.
braindead: First off, some of the covid deaths occurred under the Trump Presidency. In the Biden administration, there were as many deaths as under Trump even WITH a vaccine.
Open skies is a farce. We know when they will occur so we can hide all kinds of stuff, just like every other nation can. Sort of like when I was on active duty and you knew when a “surprise” barracks inspection was going to occur.
Take note that you STILL don’t address the factual nature that the economy is nowhere near fabulous under the current administration.
Retrac: I wasn’t giving them a bad rap. A lot of those fires were while charging. It’s more of an insult to the manufacturers.
At this point in my life I won’t ride an e-bike. I want to ride under full pedal power. Plus I am not dropping 7,000 on an electric mountain bike.
