@aristoclesplato9 My, you’ve been busy spewing your nonsense. The court’s ideology has indeed shifted – away from the Constitution and towards fascism.

No, it is not due to the “will of the people;” we know full well that, were it not for gerrymandering, the Democratic Party would have a substantial lead in both houses of Congress, and that no Republican has won the popular vote for the White House since 2004 – and Dubya was “lucky” then. The majority of Americans support, for example, stricter gun control, abortion rights (as state-level votes have proven repeatedly), etc.

And saying, as you do, that it is the “will of the people represented by the President” – since you mean #45, who was not elected by a majority – and “the will of the states represented by the Senate” – by which you mean Mitch McConnell and a biased vote that does not represent the American people, since he stole a Supreme Court member from Obama – you know it too.

Thanks for making your support of authoritarianism, racism, and sexism, and your rejection of democracy – as represented by the Republican Party – clear.

Might be easier for Biden if #45 is kept in a hermetically sealed tube (with its own oxygen supply, of course), to deal with the smell…

Of course it’s not nonsense. It means he needs to recuse himself from the #45 case immediately. And the argument that “the wife flew it, not him” is the same game that Clarence Thomas is playing, who should ALSO recuse himself. They are accessories to treason, it’s as simple as that.

And for the record, your attempt to project by saying “Unless of course you believe only the man should rule the roost” is hilarious, given that Alito believes precisely that according to his own Supreme Court opinions, notably in his opinion striking down Roe v. Wade. He cited a 17th-century witch-hunter, who believed women could ruin an estate but could not even learn the ways to increase it (in other words, they didn’t have a head for business), and who created the rape exemption for marriage.

@Dangerguy is right; insurance companies have already been forced to change policies because of climate change. Many people don’t know about reinsurance companies, which are insurance companies for insurance companies – so if they have to pay out a lot at once (e.g., for a major disaster), they are covered. So for obvious reasons the reinsurance industry has been paying close attention to climate change for some time now – like a decade or more. All the big ones have explicit statements on their websites about climate change. IF you go to, say, Swiss Re’s website and search for “Climate Change,” you will find that they not only have numerous articles about climate change and how it affects their industry, but also status reports on major climate events year by year.

Obviously some insurance companies – especially in Florida, backed up by the disgusting people dominating the legislature – are trying to avoid paying anything, but there’s a limit to what they can do there. Eventually people just quit buying insurance if they get zero for it.

I am sorry to say you have been snookered by falsehoods spread by the Republican Party and its allies in the media.

    1. Joe Biden has not done anything to create inflation; a significant chunk of it is profitable companies choosing to increase their profits at your expense. Presidents have limited ability to control inflation. Having said that, The Former Guy did have a significant impact by imposing tariffs and starting a trade war with Canada. There’s a reason you try to be selective with a tool used in the 1800s.

    2. No, the border crisis is not related to inflation – if anything, using illegals keeps prices down, since they they can be forced to take a lower living wage and not have benefits. By the way, we benefit from having everyone healthy – otherwise we spread viruses and germs like, y’know, COVID. And a lot of illegals pay taxes, so it is only fair they should benefit from them.

    3. Contrary to popular belief going back decades, we do NOT spend a lot on “foreign aid.” In fact, we spend less than most industrialized nations. Furthermore, there’s almost always strings attached: the country has to spend 80% of it or more on American goods and services. In other words, it isn’t a boondoggle benefiting foreigners, it is a boondoggle benefiting American industry at government (and your) expense.

If they were selectively going after terrorists, that would be one thing. They are not. They are bombing the entire area, and Netanyahu has also declared intent to put more settlements in Gaza. There are members of his administration who have said outright that the only kind of medical aid they should provide are bombs.

Netanyahu is planning to exterminate the Palestinians, and take their land for Israel. Period. That’s not helping them against “the terrorists,” either, since Arab nations (who are happy to use the Palestinians as a political football as well – they certainly aren’t allowing refugees to cross their border) can whip up more hatred against Israel to distract from their own vicious governments.

He unquestionably had brain damage. He said himself that he experienced severe memory loss and mental fog, and said in 2010 that his earning power had been negatively affected by the cognitive issues, the Times reported.

Around the same time, the Times said, he suffered from mercury poisoning, which can lead to neurological issues such as loss of peripheral vision, muscle weakness and issues with movement, hearing and speech, as well as memory loss.

He may have healed from most of this (brains can re-circuit), but that does not necessarily mean he does not have side effects.

So let me get this straight: you think that Israel should be wiped out, because it is inherently a criminal enterprise?

Your logic is faulty at best. In case you hadn’t noticed, the entire map of Europe was redrawn after WWII – LITERALLY war changing the land. If you are applying it to Israel and no one else in Europe, you need to ask yourself why.

If you think I approve of the extermination going on, you are 100% wrong. It needs to stop now. But by the same token saying the only way to stop it is to eliminate the state of Israel is also 100% wrong.

Fair point. I meant that she overreached even compared to this radical and radically stupid batch of GOP representatives.

    Worth it.
